4/15 Poem 1 Think or React

No mistakes, Ellis.
Don’t give ‘em a break, Ellis
Whoosh! I’m blown by,
Swoosh, next thing I hear.
Then yelling in my ear,

Shaking my head
I was just scared.
Was it fear?

No. he just beat me
 Me? No I’m crazy.
Or am I?
He did. He just did.

Forget it.

Come back, Ellis
Stay on track, Ellis.
This is the game
And now it’s time claim
It.

3/25 Revision Plan

For my revision I have decided to revise my research paper. I read all my comments aand decided on it. To pick which paper I would revise I thought about some of the aspects of each paper like: the process, my feelings of process, and my overall performance on the paper. For me the decision wasn’t very difficult because when I wrote the research from the beginning I wanted to make it better. But, to be completely honest I am nervous about the revision.
I choose the research paper to do my revision for a few particular reasons. First, I feel like my research aper was pretty good. The thing that made me choose this paper was that it had so much potential, because it was a solid paper even though I had written it in its entirety on the night it was to be turned in. this made me wonder what the paper would be like if I took my time and made the aper as great as I should have on the first go around. But, the paper was full of small flaws (along with some big ones) and needed to be readdressed for the sake giving my topic the paper that should go along with it’s level of excitement and uniqueness.

3/25 Jane Goodall

Reading the article about what Jane Goodall did was quite disturbing considering her past contributions to the world. The factor that made the whole situation bad was that she is a person of her magnitude. All people make mistakes but did she really think no one would check up on some of her information. Also, her editor allowed the book to be published with the mistake. And I also feel bad for goodall because her reputation will always be scarred from now on.
To avoid this problem she could’ve done numerous things. One way that she could’ve been more careful is to have taken out more time to write the book. Then, she could devote more time to doing the careful, recorded, and detailed work that she is known for. And if she needed more help she could easily ask her editor to make sure that she checks over her work thoroughly. This goes to show that someone is always looking over your work and critiquing it so, even if you are Jane Goodall, the Ape Whisperer, you must cross your t’s and dot your I’s or someone will catch you and your reputation will be dismantled. And that carelessness will reflect in your work.

Turning New Leaves

The adversity of life has set on me. Most would think that after exams the mind would be peaceful and calm. And to most the storm is over but, the storm is just beginning. Great obstacles are ahead in the curriculum. Around this time teachers are beginning to crack down on work and making their courses more challenging. Now, it's critical for responsibility to come to the forefront of mindset. And for the author of this post especially, if you can my thrift.

This semester is a turning of a new leaf for me academically. Using self discipline as a catalyst I will build better u as a student. And, ultimately do better in my studies. Hopefully luck will shine in my favor. I will certainly be in need of all the good fortune I can handle.

Focus 11

In Chapter 11, Ralph has to be fully trusted by Piggy because of Piggy's loss of sight. He proves his ultimate devotion and loyalty to Piggy as he says, "you kneel down and wait till I come back."  This promise to Piggy shows Ralph self imposed responsibility to him, as well as his confidence that he can get himself and Piggy out of this situation alive.  In telling Piggy this white lie; Ralph shows that he still has a heart and a connection to friendship and loyalty, two very civil ideas.

In my favorite part of the chapter, personally, when Ralph and Jack fight; Ralph demonstrates that he actually has some grit and can get dirty.  As Ralph screams at Jack and charges him, "You're a beast and a swine and a bloody, bloody thief!" The battle cry solidifies that the tribe can't be reunited as it was before. The two sides are done with each other. Ralph was trying to make the visit become a reunion and trying to keep some form of connection with Jack's group.   But, he ends losing all his tribe members to Jack and is now fending for himself.
